Senior Cyber Systems Engineer
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Team: Cyber Missions - Peraton
Peraton is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cyber Systems Engineer to join our Cyber Missions team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you will play a key technical leadership role in shaping, designing, and integrating advanced cyber systems that support critical national missions. You will leverage your expertise to guide system development, influence technical decisions, and drive innovative solutions that have real-world impact.
As a Senior Cyber Systems Engineer, you will analyze user requirements, draft concept of operations documents, and transform high-level architectures into actionable system specifications. You will lead design and development activities, provide strategic guidance to users, conduct feasibility studies, and recommend alternative approaches that optimize performance and efficiency.
This role requires close collaboration with TTO leadership, serving as the primary technical lead for integrating requirements, design, and technology to ensure mission success.

Target Salary Range: $190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

What You'll Do:
- Act as a Scrum Coach and servant leader, facilitating Agile practices, running Scrum events (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives), removing obstacles, and fostering continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the development team, Product Owner, and stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and successful project outcomes.
- Lead Engineering Review Board (ERB) sessions with NSA leadership.
- Guide system development and implementation by preparing system engineering management plans, system integration plans, and test strategies.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and provide expert guidance on system engineering considerations.
- Communicate complex technical information effectively to program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Qualifications
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- 20+ years of systems engineering experience on programs of similar scope and complexity, with demonstrated leadership in planning and executing SE efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field OR 5 additional years of SE experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven ability to develop comprehensive SOA solutions, system architectures, operational views, and technical standards (DoDAF preferred).
- Skilled in system trade analyses, risk mitigation, modeling, simulation, and prototyping to optimize performance and reduce development cost.
- Experience managing system configurations (hardware, software, documentation) and serving on Change Control Boards (CCB) or Engineering Review Boards (ERB).
- Expertise in developing system design alternatives, evaluating lifecycle costs, reuse, complexity, risk, scalability, and growth.
- Strong background in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and recommending preferred solutions based on technology, cost, and environmental impact.
- Ability to provide technical direction for complex hardware/software systems, including requirements elicitation, functional allocation, concept of operations, interface standards, and integration/testing oversight.
- TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
- Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms, including architecture, migration, and hands-on configuration.
- SME in data flows, cloud data storage, and modern data warehouse solutions; experience with data integrity, legacy data integration, and optimizing storage.
- Experience providing strategic recommendations on data ingest, storage, and lifecycle management.
- Ability to lead Agile development teams, support Scrum ceremonies, and mentor junior system engineers.
