Overview
Razor is seeking Information Systems Security Engineers (ISSE) at multiple levels (Level 0, Level 1, and Level 3) to provide cybersecurity engineering and risk management for mission-critical systems. These roles involve designing secure architectures, performing technical security assessments, and supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes across highly classified environments. Candidates will work onsite in a secure government facility (SCIF) in the Maryland area.
Education & Certification Requirements
Level 0:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or related discipline.
Substitution: Four (4) years of ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
Level 1:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Substitution: Four (4) years of ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree (total of 11 years without degree).
Level 3:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or related discipline.
Substitution: Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience; four (4) years of additional ISSE experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
Certifications (All Levels):
DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 3 is required — CISSP and ISSEP certifications are mandatory for Level 3; strongly preferred for Levels 0 and 1.
Clearance Requirements
Active Secret clearance (minimum) — TS/SCI strongly preferred.
Citizenship: U.S. Citizens Only — No dual citizenship permitted.
Onsite Requirements
Onsite in secure government facility (SCIF) — Maryland area.
Start Date: Immediate upon clearance validation and customer approval.
Responsibilities
Common Across All Levels:
Perform or review technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Validate and verify system security requirements and establish secure system designs.
Design, develop, implement, and integrate IA and security systems and components.
Support RMF processes and security authorization activities in compliance with DoD and NIST frameworks.
Level 0:
Focus on technical security assessments and basic IA integration tasks.
Level 1:
Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments.
Assist architects and developers in implementing security functionality.
Enforce trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
Contribute to security planning, risk analysis, and certification activities.
Level 3:
Lead risk analysis, mitigation, and management efforts across the program lifecycle.
Provide expert guidance to other security engineers and mentor junior personnel.
Interact with customers and program leadership to align cybersecurity objectives with mission priorities.
Design and validate security architectures for multi-enclave and cross-domain environments.
Qualifications
Level 0:
0 years of experience (entry-level).
Level 1:
7 years of ISSE experience (or 11 years without a degree).
Level 3:
Baseline: 20 years of ISSE experience; reduced minimum: 12+ years with substitutions.
Additional Expertise for Level 3:
Secure architecture design, cross-domain solutions, cryptographic systems integration.
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in highly classified mission environments.
Desired Skills
Level 0:
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and IA concepts.
Familiarity with DoD and NIST RMF processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn quickly and work in a team environment.
Level 1:
Proficiency in implementing IA controls and security architectures.
Experience with enclave environments and multi-domain systems.
Knowledge of cryptographic systems and secure communications.
Strong documentation and compliance review skills.
Level 3:
Expert-level knowledge of secure architecture design and cross-domain solutions.
Deep understanding of cryptographic integration and advanced IA methodologies.
Leadership skills for guiding multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to interface with senior stakeholders and align cybersecurity objectives with mission priorities.
