Responsibilities of the Software Engineer include:
- Design and implement backend services in Python and Java for mission planning and flight operations
- Develop and validate algorithms for modeling complex physics-based concepts and operational workflows
- Build and integrate APIs with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure for scalability and resilience
- Optimize software performance and ensure maintainability, security, and cost efficiency
- Deploy containerized applications and support CI/CD pipelines for production environments
- Collaborate cross-functionally with satellite operators, product managers, and engineering teams
Qualifications for the Software Engineer include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- 3-5+ years of experience in backend development, modeling & simulation, or full-stack engineering
- Proficiency in Python and Java; experience with C++ or Rust is a plus
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, EC2, RDS, S3) and containerization (Docker)
- Familiarity with API development, distributed systems, NoSQL/relational databases, and event-driven architectures
- Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret required; TS/SCI preferred) or ability to obtain clearance
Compensation for the Software Engineer includes:
- Salary Range: $150,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
