DUTY 1

Performs all personnel and administrative support for the Office of the Director of Legal Operations, to include but not limited to AFRC/JA workflow management, meetings, Task Management Tool (TMT) and various other correspondence.

DUTY 2:

Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.

DUTY 3:

Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying analytical techniques and inspection procedures to assess and maintain compliance with all the critical factors of various programs, and the oversight and maintenance of various programs to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools; skill in troubleshooting and resolving problems with information systems equipment; knowledge of a body of budget and financial management regulations, practices, procedures, and policies. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION:

master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:


Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement may be used to qualify applicants at grades GS-9.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge and ability to compile and analyze data concerning Directorate budget, order funds, travel expenses as well as well as Directorate personnel security, manning status, performance accomplishments, Individual Mobilization Augmentee's (IMA) training requirements and other pertinent management data.

2. Knowledge of resource management functions including pertinent regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements for financial planning, manpower and personnel processes, training, and facilities.

3. Knowledge of operating programs to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations on substantive program operations.

4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.

5. Knowledge of military command structure, missions, programs, organizational relationships and program goals and objectives.

6. Knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures and function keys to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats such as graphics or tables within text, to edit and reformat electronic drafts, and to update and revise existing databases or spreadsheets. Knowledge of the nature and capability of different software packages and the integration compatibility among different software types.

7. Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as electronic typewriters, copiers, fax machines, and office automation systems, to perform a substantial range of office automation support. A fully qualified typist is required.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
