Job Description
ECS is seeking a Data Visualization Engineer to work remotely . Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.

ECS is seeking a skilled Data Visualization Engineer to support a rapidly growing Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform. Our team supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO); in this role, you will be pivotal in supporting our federal customer in building an exciting, innovative, and consolidated BI solution by developing and refining various data models. The tool you will be supporting helps to consolidate and simplify complex data streams across the organization and your work will directly empower senior leadership with a comprehensive, real-time understanding of the organization, arming them with the information needed to make strategic decisions. You will need to be capable of translating business requirements into technical specifications to create insightful and interactive dashboards that drive decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality dashboards and reports in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and/or Amazon QuickSight.
  • Understand business stakeholders' data visualization reporting requirements and translate them into actionable solutions within Power BI, Tableau, and/or Amazon QuickSight.
  • Perform administrative tasks for Power BI, Tableau, and QuickSight including: User Management, Workspace configuration and management, Data source connections, Monitoring, and Governance/Security.
  • Perform ETL on data from various sources for development of reports and dashboards
  • Support end-user support and training of any reports and dashboards
  • Create and maintain documentation such as report specifications, user guides, data models and application administrative processes.

Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000

Required Skills
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline
  • 5+ years of experience using PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Amazon QuickSight
  • Strong SQL skills to query, manipulate, and interact with databases
  • Ability to utilize Power BI DAX and M
  • Experience designing and implementing data models is preferred
  • Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience working in an Agile methodology specifically Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Experience building data models and pipelines to support data visualization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal leadership skills
Desired Skills
  • Python development skills
  • Prior professional services or federal consulting experience; experience supporting DHS preferred
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence)
  • Experience developing pipelines using serverless tools
  • Certified Section 508 Trusted Tester
