Enterprise Data Center Architect
Location: Onsite – Hill Air Force Base, Utah (Monday–Friday)
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance and IAT II Certified
Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: Up to $150K–$200K annualized (hourly equivalent during contract phase)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Data Center Architect for a critical role supporting the transformation of a high-impact, cloud-based data center environment. This position is responsible for architecting and managing systems that power mission-critical applications and ensure seamless, secure, and scalable user experiences.
This is an onsite role requiring an active Secret Clearance, offering the potential for full-time conversion after an initial 6-month contract period.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture Design and Implementation: Lead the design, development, and implementation of front-end data center architecture, focusing on optimizing hosting and DevSecOps environments for application information systems. This includes HW, servers, VMs, storage arrays, networking equipment, switches, etc.
Technology Evaluation: Stay ahead of the curve with emerging cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle OCI) and front-end frameworks.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance system performance, identifying and resolving front-end bottlenecks.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver tailored front-end solutions that align with business and mission objectives.
Security & Compliance: Ensure all solutions meet DoD security standards and compliance requirements.
Documentation: Maintain clear, standardized technical documentation for designs and processes.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term IT roadmaps, evaluating how emerging tech can support future initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
IAT Level II
5+ years of data center architecture or engineering experience
Strong understanding of infrastructure components (servers, storage, networking, virtualization).
Solid understanding of API integration (REST, GraphQL) and data structures (JSON, XML).
Experience with data visualization tools and data center applications
Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Analytical thinker and problem-solver
Able to work independently and in a fast-paced team
Experience with Agile methodologies
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering on deadlines
