You may qualify at the WG-5 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
I have experience that demonstrates my ability to perform helper tasks such as: Installation and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures and controls for fixed industrial equipment. Assists journeyman in laying out, assembling, and installing a variety of wiring systems. Bending and installing conduit, installing boxes and fixtures, and pulling wire using basic hand and power tools such as measuring tapes, conduit benders, pliers, screw drivers, drills, and rotary hammers while assisting the journeyman Electrician. Performs general housekeeping duties in shop and on the job sites, keeping parts and tool storage cabinets properly arranged and maintaining current inventories, and delivering parts and supplies to the higher graded Electricians.
You may qualify at the WG-8 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement :
I have experience that demonstrates my ability to perform Mid-level tasks such as: Assists journeyman in performing all phases of installation, alteration and repair to electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment and facilities within an assigned area on post. Assists journeyman with new installations, alterations, additions and deletions to electrical facilities within any area on post, in accordance with authorized work orders. Install new electrical circuits, wall plugs, electric hot water heaters and circuits, rewiring existing electrical circuits to accommodate additional electrical equipment and avoid overload or rewiring. Plans and lays out work according to rough sketches, blueprints or verbal instructions.
You may qualify at the WG 10 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement :
I have experience that demonstrates my ability to perform a full range of electrical tasks at the highest journeyman level such as: Installs, maintains, modifies, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs secondary power distribution and building electrical systems and related circuits and equipment. These power distribution and building systems are primarily composed of, but not limited to: conduits, conductors, junction boxes, related switches, power outlets, transformers, distribution panels, electric motors, electric motor starters and controls, light dimmers, digitally networked lighting controls, fire alarms, automatic transfer switches, as well as a wide variety of electrical lighting fixtures, equipment, and appliances. Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing, placement type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment and controls. Performs assigned scheduled maintenance, system inspections, maintenance tests and adjustments, troubleshoots any discovered system deficiency or equipment malfunctions, determines and orders all required parts and performs all necessary repairs and corrective actions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
