Position Summary
Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a highly skilled Systems Architect to support United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) at MacDill AFB. This role supports Special Access Program (SAP) environments and is responsible for conducting system assessments, remediation activities, and compliance efforts across complex, mission-critical infrastructures.
The Systems Architect will serve as a senior technical authority for Microsoft-based systems and VMware environments, ensuring full compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA STIG requirements. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong documentation skills, and close collaboration with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and mission stakeholders in a highly secure operational environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform system architecture assessments for SAP and classified environments supporting USSOCOM missions
- Lead system remediation efforts to address vulnerabilities, findings, and compliance gaps
- Architect, evaluate, and harden Microsoft Windows server and workstation environments
- Design, support, and optimize VMware virtualization infrastructures
- Implement, validate, and maintain DISA STIG compliance across systems and platforms
- Support RMF activities including system categorization, control implementation, assessment, and continuous monitoring
- Develop and maintain RMF artifacts such as SSPs, POA&Ms, SARs, and system diagrams
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, cloud, and application teams to ensure secure system integration
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to government stakeholders and senior leadership
- Support audits, inspections, and authorization activities for SAP systems
- Ensure systems comply with DoD, USSOCOM, and Intelligence Community security policies
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Active TS/SCI clearance (required at time of hire)
- Extensive experience supporting SAP and classified DoD environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server and enterprise Microsoft systems
- Proven expertise with VMware virtualization technologies
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining DISA STIG compliance
- In-depth knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Experience conducting system assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance validation
- DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT or IAM certification (Examples include Security+, CISSP, CAP, or equivalent approved certification)
- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience supporting USSOCOM or Special Operations missions
- Experience working in joint, interagency, or Intelligence Community environments
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and configuration management tools
