This role supports a Combatant Command staff by building coordinated communication plans that connect operational objectives to clear themes, messages, and engagement activities. What you’ll do
Build and synchronize communication strategies that support operational planning
Develop themes, narratives, key messages, and target audiences tied to plans and priorities
Support Key Leader Engagement (KLE) planning, including policies, tracking, and read-outs
Help manage KLE tools and datasets (content, talking points, meeting outcomes, messaging history)
Track senior U.S. Government themes and messages to keep plans aligned with broader strategic messaging
Improve coordination and unity of effort across headquarters elements, subordinate commands, Joint Staff, and interagency partners
Integrate communication planning and assessment across Public Affairs (PA), Information Operations (IO), and KLE
Draft, update, and maintain the Commander’s Communication Strategy (Annex Y) for plans and orders
Produce senior-leader-ready briefs, decision support products, and written recommendations
Required qualifications
5+ years of planning experience in one or more of the following: Public Affairs, Information Operations, Key Leader Engagement, or Civil Affairs
Strong writing and briefing skills with the ability to work short suspense taskers
Comfort working in a joint environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

Corporate marketing or strategic communications experience (especially if you can translate it into operational messaging discipline)
