About the role
Focus: Support operational planning with a WMD/CWMD mission emphasis (Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction and WMD-Terrorism).

What you’ll do:
Support structured planning efforts, including problem framing, mission analysis, and course of action development.
Build and refine planning products such as slide decks, read-aheads, action memos, meeting notes, and staff packages.
Track tasks and actions, keep stakeholders aligned, and follow items through to completion.
Support WMD/CWMD-related working groups and planning sessions, capturing decisions and next steps.
Assist with coordination across partner organizations when needed.
Support document and records tasks tied to planning products, including FOIA/MDR coordination support when required.
Required qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance required (must be current and able to be verified).
The position shall be staffed by an individual who is:
a graduate of the Joint Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Planning Course (JCPC), CWMD Senior Staff Planners course, or equivalent program;
has at least 5 years of WMD-related planning experience; and
has a minimum of 3 years of experience at the Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters.
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to turn rough inputs into clear, decision-ready products.
Strong organization skills, including task tracking and working multiple priorities at once.
Comfort working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience in Special Operations activities and Counterterrorism (CT) is strongly preferred.
Exposure to WMD, CWMD, WMD-T, CBRN, counterproliferation, deterrence planning, or crisis planning.
Familiarity with joint planning concepts and planning products (JP 5-0/JOPP familiarity is a plus).
Experience supporting coordination across Joint Staff, OSD, other Combatant Commands, and interagency partners.
