In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes standardized administrative practices and procedures common to the organization or area of responsibility; Knowledge of command logistics plans for mobility, deployment, contingency and related readiness programs within assigned areas; and Knowledge of and skill in applying conventional methods to gather, analyze, and evaluate factual information concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics processes, draw conclusions, and recommend appropriate action.

EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree Or LL.B. or J.D., if related. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to a full range of logistics management to include cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicles management, vehicle maintenance, warehousing, deployment planning and operations, personal property movement, global fuels and cryogenics, and logistic plans under peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the squadron. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Skill in analyzing issues and formulating solutions to complex problems. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of subordinate installations/organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, and concisely. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

- Assists the Chief of Quality Assurance in providing advice and assistance to the squadron leadership on business processes and performance/efficiency of the squadron.
- As a Quality Inspector performs/leads studies, and provides technical advice and assistance on development and implementation of readiness mission capabilities.
- Represents the installation for wing/squadron logistics readiness issues at higher management-level meetings within the organization and at conferences with MAJCOM, HQ USAF, DOD, and other agencies.
- Administers the education and training programs for Logistics Readiness Squadron. Directs, evaluates, and coordinates unit training, reaction time, and mission capability.
