Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the severity and potential impact of discovered vulnerabilities to inform risk prioritization.
- Create comprehensive reports that detail findings, risk assessments, and actionable mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate closely with system administrators and developers to address vulnerabilities, verify fixes, and ensure system resilience.
- Support enterprise cybersecurity operations in alignment with federal standards and guidelines including HHS, DHS CISA, and FISMA.
- Stay informed on the latest cybersecurity threats, tools, and best practices to proactively protect NIH systems.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Vulnerability Analyst or similar role, demonstrating hands-on vulnerability management.
- Strong knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools and techniques.
- Experience with incident response, risk analysis, and mitigation planning.
- Ability to interpret technical findings into clear, actionable reports.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Haves (Not Required):
- Industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise-level cybersecurity monitoring and threat intelligence.
- Knowledge of scripting or automation tools to streamline vulnerability management processes.
