- Develop, design, code, and implement next-generation deployment automation using system/software engineering best practices and the latest technologies:
- DevOps (Jenkins, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker)
- Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code (UrbanCode Deploy, Ansible, Scripting)
- Administer IBM WebSphere Application Server including installing, migrating, upgrading, deploying, troubleshooting, and configurating on Linux.
- Provide engineering contributions in one or more of these areas: software deployment, application monitoring and performance tuning, Microservice architecture, container orchestration, security, or auto-scaling & application reliability engineering.
- Work closely and collaboratively with a small tightly knit high performing team of Leidos engineers and customer technical leads
- Investigate and repair application defects with development team regardless of component: front-end, business logic, middleware, CI/CD pipeline, or database (PL/SQL and Data Modeling). Triage Java exceptions and tune JVM/application server
- Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience
- All other duties as assigned or directed.
FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS ( Basic Qualifications )
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or a related field.
- Master’s or doctorate degree may substitute for required experience
- 8 years of combined experience with software development including deployment, automation, systems/application analysis and design
- 3+ years of combined experience with Application Server Administration (WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Liberty)
- 2+ years of combined experience with UrbanCode Deploy
- 1+ year of experience with Ansible automation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

These skills will help you succeed in this position:
- Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server or Liberty administration in Linux.
- Solid experience automating application deployments for WebSphere using IBM UrbanCode Deploy.
- Strong experience in automating tasks scripting languages like Shell, Python.
- Experience developing build scripts using Apache Ant and Apache Maven.
- Basic experience with configuration management and provisioning tools (Ansible automation, CloudFormation / Terraform)
- Basic knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration
- Solid experience with version control software such as Git/Bitbucket.
- Basic knowledge with Java EE, Java generics, and concurrent programming
- Excellent communication and written skills
HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

- Experience using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins.
- Knowledge of IBM Content Manager administration
- AWS cloud certifications
- Experience with configuring and using Splunk or other log aggregator.

- Solid experience with Spring Framework (Boot, Batch, Cloud, Security, and Data)
- Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, DB2), and SQL
- Experience with modern development software, tools, and methodologies.
- Experience working on Agile projects and understanding Agile terminology.
