OVERVIEW
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software/Systems Architect to lead the modernization and automation of configuration management processes leveraging Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in system architecture, software development, NIST compliance, and designing enterprise frameworks that drive improvements in quality, reliability, and cybersecurity.

Prior Veterans Health Administration (VHA) experience
The Senior Software/Systems Architect will:
Lead automation and product improvements through configuration management and testing.
Support CI/CD implementation, troubleshooting, and pathway optimization.
Manage and maintain repositories, databases, and DevOps tools (e.g., Jira, Git, Jenkins, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps).
Conduct business, technical, and systems analysis, documenting requirements and solutions.
Oversee full system lifecycles, including configuration management, change processes, and auditing.
Develop and deliver training, documentation, presentations, and reports.
Collaborate with developers, analysts, and users to resolve issues and ensure system reliability.
Provide program support, mentoring, and promote best practices in configuration management.
Expertise in configuration management for complex systems across the full lifecycle, including source control, versioning, baselines, audits, and traceability.
Strong knowledge of CM policies, standards, and frameworks (SAFe, IEEE 828, ITIL, NIST SP 800-53/128) with experience implementing secure, compliant practices.
Proficiency in CI/CD frameworks, automation, Agile/Scrum, and integrating CM within the SDLC.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, ServiceNow, and related repositories.
Skilled in systems and business analysis, including documentation, diagramming, reporting, and training.
Ability to develop CM processes, dashboards, and communication tools, while mentoring and supporting teams and stakeholders.

5+ years as a software/systems architect for large systems; 7+ years supporting IT contracts with configuration management.
