COMSEC Technician - Korea
Perform diagnostics and maintenance support on U.S. Army COMSEC equipment and subassemblies as a COMSEC Technician at Camp Humphreys, Korea.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a COMSEC Technician, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Worldwide Field Support contract for the U.S. Army. You'll play a crucial role in providing on-site technical and maintenance assistance, analyzing complex technical problems, and providing training to site operations and maintenance personnel.
• Repair, maintain, and modify complex electronic cryptographic (COMSEC) equipment (AN/PYQ-10, KIK-11, KG-175, KG-250, KIV-7M, KIV-77, KY-100, APX-123/RT-1912, Secure Unit Telephone, etc.).
• Serve as technical advisor to corps, group, battalion, and company commanders, and all levels of maintenance officers on matters related to maintainability of COMSEC equipment.
• Perform depot maintenance on-site, substituting equipment, repair parts, and components, determining what equipment, replacements units or sub-assemblies should be evacuated to depot for repair.
• Act as the on-site technical expert who can assess the operation and sustainment of the serviced equipment to ensure operational readiness and to meet new mission scenarios.
• Maintain the organization's COMSEC account with 8th Army.
• Coordinate logistic support through direct communication and liaison with affected commands systems managers, contractor developers, and users.
• Responsible for maintaining records of Cryptographic Controlled items (CCI) end items.
• Develop equipment and status reports and provide daily and weekly maintenance reports.
• Requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, reaching or recurring lifting of moderately heavy objects (50 pounds).
• Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Graduate of military a military technical school for COMSEC such as Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE)/ US Army 35E / 94E or similar
• Experience: At least seven years of experience repairing, maintaining, and modifying COMSEC equipment whether active-duty military, government service, and/or contractor
• Technical skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with complex equipment, use test and measurement equipment, understand technical manuals, and knowledge of COMSEC policies
• Security Clearance: Secret
• Citizenship: US citizenship required
• Role requirements: US passport must not expire for at least 2 years, valid US driver's license, and an international driver's permit (AAA)
