Electrical Test Engineer

Key Role:

Provide expert-level technical advice and actively manage multiple complex projects of unique military-use electrical systems. Produce engineering analysis reports of systems functions and design by reviewing schematics of electronic equipment and parts for functionality and use root cause analysis to determine and diagnose potential points of failure. Evaluate existing electronic system specifications and schematic wiring diagrams to develop scope of work for electronic testing equipment which assists in diagnosing equipment for electrical faults, damage, and abnormalities. Create written procedures to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment. Provide recommendations on technical solutions for electronics technicians allowing them to salvage and maintain mission critical equipment and manage repair parts list for electrical equipment to address obsolescence issues. Present technical information to electronics technicians, supervisors, and senior military leaders, providing updates to make continuous progress on the projects supporting service priorities of sustainment and maintenance of critical military equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as an electrical engineer or in the test engineering field for electronic systems
  • 3+ years of experience in assembly, integration, and test (AIT) of electronic systems
  • 2+ years of experience in exercise planning, preparation and coordination with adjacent components and Higher Headquarters Commands
  • Experience employing general purpose test equipment and automated test equipment to perform analysis and fault isolation of electronic systems, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, or circuit card assembly testers
  • Experience in electrical engineering programming languages, such as C, Ruby, Java, or Python
  • Experience in the application of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the review of system schematics, including developing equipment test systems and maintenance procedures
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
