Duties

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT OFFICER-TITLE 32, GS-0346-12, you will manage and administer aircraft logistics activities within contingency response organizations. Plan, develop, and publish aircraft logistics policies and procedures within the general framework, as established by higher echelons of command. Manage the overall maintenance and related support activities to assure timely, effective and complete logistical support of base, group, wing, state, National Guard Bureau and Air Force mission requirements. Supervise the preparation of plans for logistical support of operational missions. Supervise and direct the preparation of budget estimates; financial plans; studies of the aircraft logistics organization; manning requirements; mobility or contingency requirements; and publications related to maintenance, methods, policies and procedures. Coordinate logistics activities with supervisors, various base activities, and higher echelons of logistics such as Air Force Depot Weapons Systems Managers, NGB, Major Command Staff, etc. Maintain liaison with counterparts at other ANG bases, particularly those possessing the same type of aircraft, to ensure a prompt and free exchange of pertinent technical, management, and mission information. Administer a sound aircraft logistics personnel management program to assure that personnel in staff, supervisory, and technical positions are highly qualified and motivated. Military Grades: O-1 (2nd Lt) - O4 (Maj)

Area 3B applicants must meet the military qualifications and rank requirements when assessed as a member of the Kentucky Air National Guard.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
You must be assigned to a compatible military position.
Wear of the military uniform.
Position may require a pre-employment physical.
May be subject to furlough actions.
May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.
Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate a military bonus.
Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Must attended Supervisor Training: failure to complete Supervisor Training within 12 months of appointment will result in reversion to previous position.
May be required to successfully complete a supervisory/managerial probationary period.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 36 months experience, identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
