Job Summary:
The Director of Security and Emergency Management is responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and execution of enterprise-wide security operations, emergency management, crisis response, and business continuity programs. This role ensures the protection of personnel, facilities, information, and assets while maintaining compliance with federal, state, local, and customer security requirements. The Director serves as the senior authority for security governance and emergency preparedness across multiple locations and programs.
Responsibilities:
Security Operations & Governance
• Lead physical security, personnel security, and emergency management programs.
• Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, SOPs, and post orders.
• Act as primary liaison with government customers, law enforcement, and emergency services.
• Oversee access control, badging, CCTV, alarms, and intrusion detection systems.
Emergency Management & Incident Response
• Develop and maintain Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), Incident Response Plans (IRPs), and Crisis Management Plans.
• Lead response to security incidents, emergencies, and critical events.
• Conduct drills, tabletop exercises, and after-action reviews.
• Coordinate evacuation, shelter-in-place, and disaster recovery procedures.
Business Continuity & Risk Management
• Develop and manage Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Continuity of Operations (COOP).
• Conduct risk assessments and threat/vulnerability analyses.
• Identify and mitigate security and operational risks across the enterprise.
• Ensure mission-critical operations remain resilient.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal security standards and regulations.
• Support audits, inspections, and customer security reviews.
• Maintain required security documentation and reporting.
• Ensure alignment with contract-specific and regulatory requirements.
Leadership & Program Management
• Lead and develop security managers, supervisors, and emergency management staff.
• Oversee staffing plans, training requirements, and certifications.
• Manage security budgets, vendors, and technology investments.
• Provide executive-level briefings, metrics, and reports.
