Tria Federal is seeking an experienced Cerner Revenue Cycle Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Defense Health Agency (DHA) Revenue Integrity initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the Revenue Integrity subject matter expertise (SME) for Cerner revenue cycle workflows spanning clinical, charge services, and patient accounting, coordinating closely with enterprise stakeholders and solution owners to drive standardization, optimization, and compliance. You will provide subject matter expertise, help translate business needs into system and workflow recommendations, and support DHA in improving end-to-end revenue cycle performance within the Military Health System.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a key Revenue Integrity SME for Cerner revenue cycle workflows, including clinical, charge services, and patient accounting, partnering with enterprise functional leads and solution owners.
- Coordinate across front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end revenue cycle stakeholders, including clinical providers, registration and scheduling, health information management (HIM), CDM, coding, billing, finance, IT, and Cerner solution teams to align revenue integrity requirements with system design and workflow execution.
- Support current-state and future-state workflow design sessions focused on clinical documentation, charge capture, billing, reconciliation, and revenue integrity controls.
- Analyze revenue cycle, charge, and billing data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities to reduce revenue leakage, denials, and rework.
- Collaborate with CDM, coding, charge services, and finance stakeholders to validate charge routing, mapping, pricing logic, and fee schedule configuration within Cerner.
- Coordinate with Cerner solution owners and IT teams to support enhancements, fixes, and optimization initiatives that impact revenue integrity, ensuring RI requirements are clearly documented, communicated, and validated.
- Develop and maintain revenue integrity-focused standard operating procedures (SOPs), job aids, and reference materials related to Cerner-based workflows.
- Provide coaching and informal training to Military Treatment Facility (MTF) staff on best practices for clinical documentation, charge capture, and revenue cycle workflows in Cerner.
- Monitor, document, and escalate system, workflow, or process risks that may impact compliant billing, coordinating with solution owners and DHA leadership on mitigation and remediation plans.
- Prepare and deliver clear written deliverables, status reports, and presentations summarizing findings, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to DHA leadership and stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Systems, Nursing, or a related field. Master's preferred.
- 7+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience, including at least 5 years of Cerner experience (MHS GENESIS or commercial).
- Demonstrated experience across clinical workflows, charge services, CDM concepts, and patient accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, revenue codes, modifiers, and reimbursement methodologies.
- Experience supporting large, complex healthcare systems; prior Military Health System (MHS) or federal healthcare experience preferred.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups and influence outcomes without direct system ownership or configuration authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate regulatory, clinical, and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
