Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Principal Project Management or a Senior Principal Project Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals onsite in Rancho Bernardo, Ca. This position is required full-time, in-office. Hybrid scheduling (time split between in-office and work-from-home) may become available depending on future project needs.
Accomplish
You will serve as a liaison between data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers, functional and technical management, and program management. You will review the status of projects and budgets, manage schedules, prepare status reports, assess project issues, and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives for a highly technical and innovative Data Science, Analytics, and Machine Learning Team within the Product Support division.
You must demonstrate proven leadership and team-building abilities, excel in interpersonal communication in a technical setting, consistently drive high team motivation, and thrive as a flexible and collaborative team member.
This is NOT a manager-level position and will NOT be responsible for direct reports.

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Manage and track status of projects, metrics, financial budgets, and EACs; manage schedules and prepare status reports; and ensure project remediation and ongoing compliance goals are met.

- Proactively manage risks and opportunities such as allocation of resources and schedule modification.
- Support pre-proposal and proposal activity, including the review of specifications, scope of work, and financial requirements specifically for the Data Science team.
- Assist with streamlining and managing the required processes for procuring novel hardware and software, including all approvals, financials, security, IT, facilities, etc.

- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Your ability to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated government Top Secret clearance, and any program access (es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Project Management:
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of project management experience, OR Master's degree with 6 years of project management experience.
- Recent professional experience in scheduling and Earned Value Management (EVM) for Data Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or similar scope projects.
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated financial management skills/knowledge including development and control of program budgets, schedules, and the ability to recognize and capture program changes, especially for multiple, different funding streams.

- Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously and developing a plan of action while coordinating across a large, diverse team of program, business, and technical SMEs.
- Experience using MS Power BI, and/or Tableau, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Project, Jira and Confluence.
- Experience in the DoD/military/defense and/or aviation/aerospace industry, with knowledge of government contracting requirements and proposal process.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or similar.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance and Special Program Accesses.
