The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as a cybersecurity technician, a passion for safeguarding IT infrastructure, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection of critical infrastructure supporting U.S. government operations in Europe.
Essential Job Duties
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to cybersecurity incidents and events within the network.
- Assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading network security systems, hardware, and software.
- Support system vulnerability assessments and assist in remediation efforts.
- Implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls in compliance with government regulations.
- Conduct system security audits and prepare documentation for compliance reviews.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users on security-related issues.
- Assist in the management and maintenance of firewalls, anti-virus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Support cybersecurity training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Assist in the creation and updating of cybersecurity incident response plans and documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Clearance: Active Secret clearance is required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Certifications: IAT Level II certification required. (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA, SSCP, etc.)
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a cybersecurity technician, preferably in a U.S. government agency environment.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
- Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security tools.
- Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and other federal security standards.
- Knowledge of network protocols, systems administration, and patch management.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and respond to security incidents.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and platforms used within U.S. government agencies.
- Additional cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA CASP+).
- ITIL v4.
