This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management.

- You will perform industrial hygiene inspections, surveys and evaluations individually or as part of a team.
- You will be exposed to a wide range of physical, chemical and biological hazards.
- You will assess work practices to identify the population at risk and to detect violations of published health standards.
- You will research the chemical and toxicological literature, develop and/or recommend individualized methods and approaches to obtain a valid and complete evaluation.
- You will present oral briefs, if requested and provide detailed written reports of survey findings.
- You will evaluate the need for quantitative assessment of air contamination, noise and other physical stressors as well as the quantitative assessment of ventilation systems.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

- Experience utilizing professional knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices
- Experience recognizing and evaluating occupational health hazards, including those for which the nature and extent of hazard is not completely understood
- Experience devising a variety of control measures, including ventilation, shielding, material substitution, change in work procedures, isolation, education, personal protective devices
- Experience using industrial hygiene sampling techniques and instrumentation

- A bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences, or related science; or
- A bachelor's degree in a branch of engineering, physical science, or life science that included 12 semester hours in chemistry, including organic chemistry, and 18 additional semester hours of courses in any combination of chemistry, physics, engineering, health physics, environmental health, biostatistics, biology, physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, or industrial hygiene; or
- Certification from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (formerly (ABIH)).
