Description
Paragon Cyber Solutions is an award-winning, woman-owned small business providing cybersecurity, CMMC, and IT services to federal and commercial clients. We support mission-critical programs across the DoD and civilian agencies and operate with a lean, execution-focused model.
This role is designed as a contract-to-hire opportunity for someone who wants hands-on exposure to federal business development and capture support, with the potential to transition into a long-term role. Strong preference for a Tampa-based hybrid candidate. Fully remote candidates will be considered for the right fit.
ROLE OVERVIEW (INITIAL CONTRACT PHASE)
During the initial 90-day contract period, the Business Development Associate will provide BD support focused on federal opportunity research, opportunity tracking, and proposal support deliverables. The contractor will manage their own work schedule and methods while meeting agreed-upon deliverables and timelines.
If the engagement is mutually successful, Paragon may offer conversion to a W-2 Business Development Associate role with expanded responsibilities.
INITIAL CONTRACT RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct federal opportunity research across SAM.gov, GovWin, and related sources
• Provide written summaries of relevant opportunities and manage pipeline updates
• Support all proposal responses through research, drafting, and formatting to include outreach
• Maintain organized records of BD activities and deliverables
• Coordinate deliverables and timelines with Paragon leadership and external partners
• Additional duties as agreed upon
CONVERSION ROLE (W-2) RESPONSIBILITIES
If converted to W-2, responsibilities may expand to include:
• Ongoing BD pipeline and CRM management
• Deeper proposal coordination and internal scheduling
• Increased ownership of BD operations and reporting
• Cross-functional collaboration with leadership and delivery teams
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 1 to 3 years of experience supporting federal business development, capture, or proposals
• Familiarity with government contracting concepts and terminology
• Strong research, organization, and follow-through skills
• Clear written communication
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience supporting full life cycle proposals (Shipley preferred)
• Familiarity with DoD or civilian agencies to incldue forecasting and reseaching
• Experience with GovWin, SAM.gov, or CRM tools
• Interest in cybersecurity or IT services
