The Strategic Integration Department (N924) is seeking Principal Task Leader for Project NCTC, an Intelligence and Forensic Analysis Task supporting the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC). The Strategic Integration Department is seeking a motivated and creative Task Leader with solid capabilities in project management, technical and thought leadership, customer relations, and team development. As Principal Task Leader, you will be accountable for overall direction, resource planning, programmatic support, budgetary development, internal and external coordination, execution, and outcomes of MITRE work for the sponsor's Counterterrorism (CT) mission. The Task provides substantive Counterterrorism analysis and the research and development of new Document and Media Exploitation (DOMEX) capabilities to US policymakers and the Intelligence Community.
An emerging or established leader who would thrive working as part of a MITRE team in a multi-agency environment on the nation's toughest Counterterrorism challenges. The ideal candidate would serve as an objective, informed partner for government leaders who rely on MITRE's insight and expertise to solve the government's greatest CT issues from a strategic perspective. This position is a full-time position, that supports our government sponsor.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead NCTC Director of Intelligence efforts to the sponsor:
- Direct and oversee the development of all intelligence analysis and DOMEX activities.
- Leverage your MITRE network to implement innovated technical solutions from Labs/Innovation Center/MIPs
- Serve as the primary MITRE/DI POC for cross-task and coordination related to NCTC Counterterrorism efforts
- Collaborate with the N924 Department Chief Engineer to support your task with other MITRE projects initiatives.
Sponsor/Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the MITRE NCTC Task Lead and key technical advisor to NCTC/DI
- Understand sponsor strategy/plans and participate in future work-shaping
- Engage with sponsor to understand and shape desired project outcomes
- Work with the project leadership team on executing the sponsor engagement strategy
Work Program Definition and Execution
- Develop and maintain an executable project plan
- Execute project plan within allocation
- Ensure that the right staffing skill mix and resources
- Work with the project leadership team to enable integration within and across NCTC project tasks
Communication
- Ensure that program area knowledge is shared openly to all Task Leaders and Team members
- Serve as communication conduit between project team and sponsor leadership
- Seek internal feedback on project activities and sponsor engagements from project team
- Recognize team accomplishments and achievement appropriately
Location
- Primarily at sponsor site in Washington Metro area; 5 days/week
- For Internals Only: Must be willing to transfer to N924
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Applicants must have a Top-Secret SCI security clearance with a CI Polygraph.
- Experience working with collected exploited material (CEM) and/or DOMEX-derived intelligence, intelligence analysis and regional studies
- Ability to work with diverse team and pursue innovative solutions to counterterrorism related problems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to take initiative with minimal direction and to solve problems
- Ability to communicate complex intelligence reporting, analytical problem sets and concepts to technical colleagues
- Demonstrated ability to write strategic and operational level analysis for senior audiences.
- Willingness to work directly with government customers and across the IC at the customer site.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Willing to work on site at NCTC in McClean, VA
- This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with programming languages and scripting tools (e.g. Java, Objective-C, Swift, Python, C, C++, Go)
- Basic knowledge of forensic investigations and outputs
- Knowledgeable of the latest tools and techniques employed by digital forensic examiners
- Proficient in standardizing data into structure data either through basic Excel or program languages or script tools
- A broad working knowledge of counterterrorism principles and technology is a requirement as this position requires interfacing with senior counterterrorism policy leaders in the CT Field.
- Strong customer relations ability to include:
- Sponsor communications (Operations-level to Executive-level)
- Team building and interpersonal skills
- Conflict resolution and constructive feedback
