Overview:

Akumen is seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-level QA Test Lead with demonstrated expertise in both manual testing and automated testing frameworks and tools. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure IT solutions as a member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team. You will design, implement, and execute comprehensive testing strategies to validate software functionality, performance, and compliance with technical and business requirements. Collaboration with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders will be essential to identifying and resolving issues, optimizing processes, and ensuring seamless system integration.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and oversight to (4) Test Engineers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and aligned with project goals.
• Serve as the main point of coordination, communicating updates, priorities, and challenges between the team and management/stakeholders.
• Support team development by mentoring members, addressing obstacles, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
• Develop and execute various types of testing (e.g., regression, manual, functional, data validation, system integration, load, and performance tests) for new and existing functionality.
• Collaborate with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development lifecycle.
• Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases, working closely with business partners, developers, and other stakeholders.
• Document and analyze test results, providing actionable recommendations for corrective measures.
• Isolate, reproduce, manage, and maintain defects and test case databases, verifying fixes as needed.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) conducted by business partners or end users.
• Conduct exploratory testing and risk analysis for complex features, particularly those spanning multiple platforms or teams.
• Advocate for quality standards and best practices within the team, especially in Agile environments.
• Collaborate with other QA Test Engineers to share knowledge and improve processes.
• Write test cases, map test scenarios, design reusable automated test scripts, and execute tests daily.
• Test solutions for functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with legacy and external systems.
• Partner with developers, professional services teams, and product owners to define testing components that validate requirements against developed software.
• Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements, and design test coverage plans.
• Escalate potential quality issues to management promptly and ensure validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications.
• Isolate, replicate, and report defects, verifying fixes as part of the testing process.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, related discipline, or equivalent related experience.
• Required: 3-5 years of experience in leading a software testing team
• Required: 8 years of software testing experience including manual and automated testing, with demonstrated proficiency in testing tools and methodologies.
• Required: Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of testing software solutions.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, practices, and planning tools (Jira, DevOps, etc.).
• Required: Experience designing and implementing test plans and scripts.
• Required: Proficiency in programming/scripting and SQL.
• Required: Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
• Required: Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).

• Preferred: Experience in automation testing, including testing methodologies, tools, and best practice.
• Preferred: Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Puppet, Playwright).
• Preferred: Experience testing, configuring, and/or customizing applications built on the ServiceNow platform.
• Preferred: Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
• Preferred: Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
