Job Description
This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for software development in the Java language for the Regional Applications team in Colorado Springs, CO supporting Enterprise Services (ENT). Under appropriate direction, provides updates to multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas. Responsible for performing analysis and technical support of systems software products, including problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
Must have an active and transferable DoD SECRET security clearance with current investigation at the required level.
Required Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or related field and 0-2 years of experience or 0 years with a graduate degree. For non-computer science major, prefer comp-sci minor.
• IAT Level II
Required Skills:
• Experience with Java software development; understanding of searching/sorting algorithms and data structures.
Technical Skills (Required):
• Software engineering and software development with Java experience (additional experience with C++ also desired).
• The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management.
• Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment.
Desired Technical skills:
• Experience developing enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Java foundation classes and toolkits.
• Knowledge of server side/database development, computer system administration.
• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking is highly desirable.
