The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Ability to install, maintain, and repair a variety of steam and/or hot water equipment systems involving power boilers with complicated components, critical requirements, and rigid tolerances; 2) Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace defective equipment and components in power plants and heating systems; 3) Ability to identify equipment malfunctions, assess repair requirements, and replace or coordinate repairs for state-of-the-art control systems such as, microprocessors and other solid state devices; 4) Ability to perform maintenance requirements (e.g., cleaning fuel guns, lubricating equipment, and power cleaning water tubes); and 5) Ability to perform operational repairs of limited to moderate complexity (e.g., repair or replace valves, gauges, and water pipes).

Incumbent is required to obtain, within six months of onboarding, and maintain a Third Class Facility Operating Engineer license through the American Society of Power Engineers, Inc. (ASOPE), a Fireman/Stationary Engineer License based on Statute Law in the State of the position, or equivalent

Work may require overnight travel for multiple days away from the normal duty station. Travel by air is required. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

- You will provide technical trade expertise to the associated BPEM workforce and Production Division Supervisors in the PWD.
- You will monitor and tests the operation of boiler systems to identify malfunctions and potential problems with equipment such as, automatic controls, valves, piping, pumps, chemical addition and related components.
- You will educate management, supervisors and employees on the command's policy governing categorization, issue and the replacement of Arc Flash Rated PPE.
- You will repair, troubleshoot, and maintain single-and-multiple fuel power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment such as water treatment systems, chemical injection, low NOx burners and flue gas recirculation.
