DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform computer system level design of the Ground Control Stations (GCS) for GA-ASI UAV systems.
- Develop new designs or modifications of existing systems as required to meet project goals. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of overall objectives and anticipated results.
- Work with other GCS computers and networks team members to define system design requirements.
- Design, Troubleshoot, and analyze Linux computer systems using standard engineering tools and principles.
- Produce documentation, such as computer system specifications, system set up procedures and interface control documents.
- System administration, support / integration of existing and new weapon system applications that are based upon Linux and Windows operating systems and associated hardware
- Understand, communicate, and apply new concepts quickly. Must be able to work independently or on a team and with the ability to lead a project.
- Communicate and produce documentation with MS Office based computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point and Project.
Job Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; nine or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, seven or more years of experience with a masters degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must possess strong Linux skills, familiarity with installation, configuration, and management of Linux systems.
- Familiarity and Experience supporting of Virtual Environments a plus. (VMware, Linux [KVM], Windows [Hyper-V] and Docker [Containers].)
- Experience with Cyber Security hardening of Windows and Linux Operating Systems, Automation, Scripting skills and experience using Nessus and SCAP a plus.
- Demonstrates the ability to apply basic engineering knowledge while using diagnostics tools and equipment, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts.
- Good communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be able to work both independently and on a team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required
- CISSP and or ISSO experience a plus
