The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager to support our B-52J software team l o cated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
The ideal candidate will manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives . Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees.

- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on program business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Identifies opportunities to support enterprise initiatives and effectively manage risk on the program
- Develops, selects, tailors and deploys software processes, tools and metrics.
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards over programs
- Manage, develop, and motivate employees
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with software development
- 3+ years of experience as the technical leader or manager of a software development or product deployment team
- In-depth knowledge of the entire SDLC process including software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.)
- Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile software development methodologies
- Experience with flight software or simulation programs and/or user interface
- Familiarity with DevOps practices such as continuous integration and continuous deployment, configuration management, security analysis and cloud computing
- Familiarity with developing commercial or military safety critical flight or tools software (DO-178/DO-331, MIL-HDBK-516C)
- Experience working in an IPT structure as part of a larger cross-functional product team
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
