Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Aeronautical Engineer within the System Integration Lab (SIL). The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have the ability to focus on first time quality, engineering rigor, and test methodology. This position will be on site and located in Palmdale, CA.
As the Staff Aeronautical Engineer, your will be responsible for working with STE Teammates, Test IPT Leadership, Lab Operations Leadership, and Test Planning & Execution (TP&E) teams to successfully plan, and execute dry run and formal test activities, and certify hardware and software. Success in this role requires the ability to clearly communicate to both leadership and peers while operating in a dynamic, high-visibility environment. A successful track record of program performance, and test experience is required.

Primary Level Salary Range: $177,000.00 - $265,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Ensure engineering tests align with mission objectives and that robust execution mechanisms are in place.
- Testing all customer samples.
- Oversees the operational aspects of engineering tests and serves as liaison to program, engineering and line management.
- Reviews status of test requirements, manages schedules and prepares reports.
- Assesses anomalies and develops resolutions to documented procedures in conjunction with Test and Quality Engineering.
- Drive process rigor, ensure compliance to meet company, program, and security requirements
- Continually seek to improve lab integration & test engineering rigor and efficiency
- Develop and execute System Level 3 Test Procedures to verify system requirements, and validate the System Under Test (SUT)
- Interface and present test integration and test execution results to program and test leadership at Pre and Post Test Reviews

- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Ability to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off hours on site
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Program Access(es)
- Extensive experience developing and executing System level test procedures
- Understanding of Agile Test methodology
- Previous experience with System Level Lab Test Execution, test planning and coordination of events
- Previous experience with 'hot bench' and overall lab operations support
- Understanding of verification program and metrics maintenance
- Proficiency in Control Account Management (CAM)
