Description:Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Lockheed Martin Space in Courtland, AL, you will play a pivotal role in producing next-generation missiles, harnesses, and chassis for Targets, Hypersonic, and Mars vehicles. You will lead technical teams, support assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) operations, and contribute to process improvements that enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
• Lead daily technical and shop floor operations to meet engineering, schedule, and cost commitments.
• Develop, maintain, and implement manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, and engineering changes.
• Create procedures for fabrication of tools and equipment and optimize product performance.
• Adapt machine/equipment design to manufacturing conditions and integrate inspection/testing requirements.
• Provide engineering guidance on design concepts and specifications for efficient production.
• Communicate with internal teams and external customers on routine matters; resolve technical problems of moderate complexity.
• Travel occasionally to other sites to support manufacturing operations.

• Previous manufacturing experience through internship, work experience, or coursework.
• Experience collaborating with multi-functional teams through coursework or work experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college/university.
• Production flow troubleshooting and process improvement skills.
• Tooling, fixture, and equipment design experience.
• Knowledge of Additive Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Experience presenting to senior government and/or organizational leaders.
• Familiarity with industry systems/processes: ERP/SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, Manufacturing Work Instructions, Routings, Production Orders, Bill of Materials, Qnotes, FFMEAs, FOE/FOD.
• Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt/Black Belt) experience.
• Experience with Electro Static Discharge (ESD) and Ordnance Missile Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T).
• Strong leadership, program management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead day-to-day manufacturing operations.
• Technical writing experience for work instructions, SOPs, or publications.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
