Description:Role Overview
As a Test Engineer within Lockheed Martin Space, you will play a key role in ensuring complex aerospace systems are properly assembled, integrated, and tested before delivery. You will support the full lifecycle of hardware integration and testing-helping verify system performance, resolve issues, and ensure mission readiness.
This role offers hands-on technical work, collaboration across disciplines, and the opportunity to grow into a Certified Test Conductor supporting high-visibility aerospace programs.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
• Execute assembly, integration, and test activities to ensure systems operate as designed
• Develop, update, and maintain test procedures that support vehicle integration and delivery
• Plan and coordinate daily test readiness and execution across multiple internal and external teams
• Support and perform system and subsystem testing, including regression testing after fixes
• Analyze test results and document findings through reports and discrepancy documentation
• Translate customer and contractual requirements into effective test solutions that balance technical, schedule, and cost considerations
• Support certification and performance as a Certified Test Conductor / Test Engineer
• Ensure test activities meet established functional, technical, and quality standards
Work Environment
• Onsite work across Huntsville and Courtland, AL
• Hands-on work in assembly, integration, and test environments
• Collaboration with engineers, program leadership, customers, and external partners
• Work may involve lab equipment, test facilities, and production or operational settings

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet all requirements to be considered.
• Ability to obtain an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start
• Experience or willingness to learn Assembly, Integration, and Test (AI&T) operations
• Experience or willingness to learn how to write and execute test procedures in an Assembly, Test, Launch Operations (ATLO), or production environment
• Willingness and ability to present technical information to senior leaders, customers, and executives
• Ability to work onsite across Huntsville and Courtland, Alabama facilities
Desired Skills:
These "nice-to-have" skills strengthen a candidate's application but are not required.
• Prior certification as a Certified Test Conductor and/or Certified Principal Engineer
• Experience supporting programs with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
• Hands-on experience testing missile systems in a production or operational environment
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications
• Background in or adjacent to manufacturing or test engineering, including hardware integration and test flows
• Experience working on cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Space systems and tools (e.g., SAP, EPDM, VECAMS, PMP Database, Automation Framework) or equivalent industry tools
• Experience using basic lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, and signal analyzers
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with customers, program teams, and leadership
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
