Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking an ISP Installer/Premise Technician to repair, replace, install, and maintain wiring and switches for Aberdeen Proving Ground. This is a full-time, represented position.

Qualifications
2+ years experience providing installation and maintenance for inside plant service calls. Experience providing maintenance, installation, testing, and repair of
telecommunications equipment and systems, to include specialized experience with the type of telephone equipment used in the current environment. Must be able to install, terminate, and test cables. Must be familiar with a variety of terminal connectors and EIA/TIA standards. Must possess the understanding and knowledge of basic electronic principles. Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings. Experience with the following: technical drawings; terminal connectors, fiber optic and copper cables; wire cutters/strippers; cable management tools; switches; test equipment; and basic hand tools including screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, and electric drills. Familiar with cable testing procedures. Knowledge of safety precautions related to installation and troubleshooting. May be required to crawl under/behind customer work environments to gain access to client systems. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted. May be required to perform physical acts such climbing to obtain access to systems. Must be comfortable working in an office environment and outside in a variety of conditions. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance, corrective maintenance of Inside Plant equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Maintain, install, remove, and move all instruments, service lines, and LAN services, including all connectors, terminators, and, if required, removal of all unused copper cable from the work area back to the point of demarcation for the installation.
- Correct and clear all trouble calls for ISP problems.
- Perform any necessary equipment/system modifications or programming.
- Provide dial tone service (voice and data) on government property to connect to any location worldwide.
- Provide O&M support for Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) type telephones.
- Operate and maintain common user telephone switches, remote switches, and nodes.
- Provide touch labor for installation, troubleshooting, repairing, changing cable pairs, etc.
- Process trouble tickets or service orders in the trouble ticket database terminal (currently TMS and Remedy, respectively) for all trouble and service requests received.
- Process requests for all approved moves, adds, and changes requirements.
- Utilize the TMS to record the receipt of the validated work request, materials used, work hours, and completion dates.
- Complete all change requests and trouble tickets in the trouble ticket database and in the TMS/Remedy (or current Systems).
