Mechanical Drafter

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is looking for a detail-obsessed Mechanical Drafter / Engineering Drawing Checker to support the U.S. Postal Service Engineering Configuration Management team. This role is all about precision-reviewing engineering drawings, validating Technical Data Packages (TDPs), and ensuring every change is right, documented, and compliant.

What You'll Do

• Review and check engineering drawings for accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance ✅
• Verify proper incorporation of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
• Review and validate Technical Data Packages (TDPs) against SOW, industry, and military standards
• Ensure strict adherence to Configuration Management (CM) processes
• Support manufacturing drawings for complex electromechanical systems ⚙️⚡
• Apply sound engineering judgment while juggling multiple reviews
• Provide technical guidance and quality oversight as needed

What You Bring

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Associate's Technical Degree + 5+ years of experience
  
  (10+ years of hands-on drafting/drawing checking may substitute for a degree)
• 5+ years of engineering drawing checking in a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of CAD drafting with complex mechanical or electromechanical systems
• 6-8 years of total related experience
• Strong experience with engineering documentation, revisions, and change control
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access

Standards & Technical Expertise (Preferred)

• ASME Y14.5 - GD&T
• ASME Y14.100 - Engineering Drawing Practices
• ASME Y14.24 - Types & Applications of Engineering Drawings
• ASME Y14.35 - Revision of Engineering Drawings
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000A (Technical Data Packages)

• AutoCAD (2012 or newer)
• Autodesk Inventor (2012 or newer)
• Autodesk Design Review
• CAD systems and BOM structures

• GD&T Professional (GDTP) certification

• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
