Cole Engineering Services (CESI), a By Light company, is recognized as a premier provider of modeling and simulation (M&S) training solutions to the Federal Government and industry. Since 2004, CESI has been at the forefront of developing, maintaining, and integrating simulation-based training, serious gaming, technical services, training and other support in live, virtual, constructive, and gaming (LVCG) domains. CESI also designs, builds and runs infrastructure, platforms, applications and processes that enable cyber training for the integrated multi-domain force. Our vision is to become a worldwide full spectrum LVCG and cyber training/analysis developer, integrator and services provider.

Position Overview

The Business Development Associate will focus on new business development at all levels of government and industry. The Business Development Associate will call into and prospect all levels of an agency.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on developing new business with federal, state and local government agencies.
  • Develop qualified leads by researching, profiling, cold calling and networking targeted agencies.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of all Cole Engineering Services products and services.
  • If needed, travel to and participate in Trade Shows, Company led conferences and/or meetings, other companies or government agency information meetings, etc.
  • Create weekly activity summary and track potential opportunity results in pipeline.
  • Maintain customer database/forecasting and account notes.
  • Design, produce and present at trade show display booth at specified conferences.
  • Successfully achieve Key Performance Indicators on an annual basis.
  • Will participate in proposal teaming strategies, direction and monitoring of major Federal proposals.
  • Critical responsibility includes participation in developing an annual and 3 year capture plan.
  • Develop marketing materials as needed.


Required Experience/Qualifications

Required Skills:
  • Effective Writing Skills - respond and communicate to correspondences while contributing to the development of complex proposals.
  • Knowledge of the Federal marketplace and competitors is required.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to easily understand technology and communicate to others.
  • Strong Presentation Skills - ability to develop and present a well-organized presentation on our products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop business opportunities in new and existing accounts.
  • History and track record of achievement of revenue objectives.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in the DoD market area or former military service.

Required Experience:
  • Must have thorough understanding and demonstrated ability of the entire Business Development process/methodology which includes:
    • Prospecting for new customers
    • Account management
    • Discovery
    • Presentation of solutions
    • Team building
    • Proposal organizing and writing, Closing

Must have complete understanding of the customer's business environment, market conditions and competition in order to fully integrate a complete solution that will positively impact the customers' overall business strategy.

Demonstrated ability to form Business Development activities across all levels of the customer organization up to the highest executive level in a consultative business approach in order to strategically link Cole capabilities with the customer's business mission, goals and objectives.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U. S. Citizenship status with ability to obtain a SECRET to TOP SECRET security clearance. Security Clearance requirements will be specified in the Government's Task Order.
