In 2009, we created Strategos Training and Services, a professional training company focused on providing services, education, and training to United States military personnel. Strategos Training and Services specializes in non-personal support services, professional instruction, training analysis, training plan development, and curriculum development.
Strategos is seeking a Verifying Officer in pursuit of a government contract.
Performance Location: Newport, Rhode Island
Hours of Work:
The contractor shall provide 40 hours of services per week, excluding Federal Holidays and weekends in the performance of the specified duties, functions and responsibilities at the United States Naval War College, located at 686 Cushing Rd, Newport Rhode Island, 02841.
Responsibilities:
The Verifying Officer (VO) shall perform the following tasks in support of DEERS/RAPIDS operations:
a) PII Processing and Management:
1. Responsible for adding, updating, retrieving, displaying, transmitting, and storing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in the DEERS database.
2. Ensure PII is handled securely in compliance with all Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and security protocols.
b) Data Reconciliation and Discrepancy Resolution:
1. Reconcile DEERS information and address discrepancies, ensuring all data is accurate and up to date.
2. Follow up on discrepancy notifications and ensure timely resolution.
c) Compliance and Security:
1. Adhere to DoD Verifying Official (VO) Certification Practice Statement (CPS), the DoD 5200.2-R, the X.509 certificate policy for handling sensitive information and other associated instructions, rules, policies or laws.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations governing PII handling and DEERS/RAPIDS operations.
3. Maintain a National Security Eligibility of non-critical sensitive (SECRET).
4. U.S. Citizenship: Required
d) Customer Service and Support:
1. Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse population, including military members, their families, civilians, and contractors.
2. Assist individuals in determining eligibility for various programs and provide guidance on requirements.
3. Process applications to confirm eligibility and ensure accurate record-keeping.
DELIVERABLES
a) Provide training certifications and updates to Site Security Manager as required by the Government.
b) Manage DEER and RAPID scheduling calendar to accomplish 100% of scheduled appointments.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
The contractor shall provide personnel who meet the following performance standards:
a) Demonstrate a thorough understanding of DEERS and RAPIDS systems, ensuring all data is handled securely and accurately.
b) Maintain a high level of professionalism while providing customer service to military personnel, dependents, and other eligible individuals.
c) Ensure the secure operation and maintenance of all related identification systems, meeting all DoD security protocols.
d) Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner with minimal errors or discrepancies.
