Description:You will be the Machine Tool Operator for our team. Our team is responsible for operating a Mazak laser and performing a variety of finishing tasks to produce components for the Special Operations Forces - Global Logistics Support Services contract.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Machine Tool Operator, you will be responsible for reading drawings and blueprints, setting up and operating the laser to process materials, and performing finishing tasks such as removing sharp edges and burrs, countersinking holes, and using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet dimensions and quality specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Operating a Mazak laser to process materials according to specifications and drawings.
-Performing finishing tasks such as removing sharp edges and burrs from aluminum and steel using hand tools, deburring knives, orbital sanders, and hand sanding.
-Countersinking holes using a drill press and hand drills.
Using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet dimensions and quality specifications.
-Working independently and as part of a team to produce high-quality components.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Blueprint Reading: Must have the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine job requirements.
Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to work with hand tools (files, deburring knives), power tools (orbital sanders, hand drills), and basic shop equipment (drill press).
Attention to Detail: A strong commitment to quality and the ability to produce parts that meet precise specifications.
Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency with basic computer functions for timekeeping, training, and data access.
Teamwork & Independence: Must be able to work effectively as part of a team and manage tasks independently.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency with Precision Measuring Tools: Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other gauges to perform quality checks on their own work.
Knowledge of Materials: Familiarity with the properties of different metals, especially aluminum and steel, and how they react to machining and finishing.
Basic Machine Maintenance: Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance, such as cleaning equipment and monitoring fluid levels.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing: Understanding of concepts like 6S, waste reduction, and maintaining an organized workspace.
Experience using SAP.
Excellent Time Management: Proven ability to manage their own workload and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines without constant supervision.
Strong Work Ethic: A proactive and reliable attitude with a sense of ownership and pride in their work quality.
Adaptability: A willingness to be cross-trained on other equipment or tasks and adapt to changing production needs.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
