To perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance, repair, and overhaul of all assigned airport ground support equipment, ensuring operational readiness and safety for aircraft servicing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to :
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on GSE.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on equipment like air condition carts, de-icing units, vehicles, work platforms and mobile power units.
- Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repair on 12/24/28V systems.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records for all serviced equipment.
- Operate various shop and ramp equipment safely.
- Primary trainer for all GSE on site.
- Responsible party for the HAZMAT program to include disposal.
- Assist logistics with the calibrated tools program
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma/GED required;
- vocational training in diesel/automotive mechanics preferred .
Certifications:
- ASE and equipment certifications highly preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience with heavy equipment, diesel/gas engines, HVAC, power generation and hydraulic systems.
Skills:
- Strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of heavy-duty equipment.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to weather elements, noise, and aircraft operations in a hangar and ramp environment.
