Position Description
The Program Execution Group (PEG) Project Manager serves as the central integrator, coordinator, and execution lead for all Division-level strategic initiatives, cross-functional activities, and senior-leader taskings within the Propulsion Acquisitions Division. The PEG PM ensures timely, accurate delivery of products that support Senior Materiel Leader (SML) and Deputy SML decision-making. This role requires exceptional organizational skill, broad enterprise awareness, and the ability to translate strategic intent into executable tasks.
This position operates in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment with frequent interaction with SES, O-6, and senior functional leadership across AFLCMC, MAJCOMs, SAF, and industry stakeholders.
Task Management
- Manage, prioritize, and track all SML and Deputy SML taskers and cross-directorate actions
- Serve as the central point for routing, consolidating, and quality-controlling tasker input from all division and functional managers
- Maintain and continuously improve PEG operations battle rhythm, tools, trackers, and communication flows
Strategic Communications & Senior-Leader Products
- Develop, coordinate, and finalize high-visibility executive products such as briefings, talking points, white papers, read-aheads, Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs), and decision packages
- Prepare leadership for internal and external engagement forums such as Propulsion Board of Directors meetings, PEO engagements, MAJCOM coordination sessions, conferences, symposiums, and external stakeholder interactions
- Ensure consistency of messaging across the division and alignment of messaging with DoD, AF, and PEO strategic guidance and intent
Meeting & Engagement Management
- Develop and manage meeting agendas, background papers, and tasking lists
- Capture decisions and action items and ensure delivery against timelines
Division-Level Synchronization & Mission Integration
- Track major program milestones, initiatives, and deliverables that require SML/Deputy SML-level visibility
- Identify risks, gaps, and friction points in enterprise synchronization and propose mitigation approaches
Process Improvement & Digital Material Management
- Create and maintain information repositories, document libraries, templates, and leadership continuity files
- Improve transparency and workflow predictability across the division
Special Projects & Executive Initiatives
- Support special assignments from the SML and/or Deputy SML, including project planning, manpower and organizational studies, strategic reviews, and annual planning cycles
- Serve as Action Officer for division-level working groups, events, and initiatives
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years related experience
• Air Force Acquisition and project management experience within AFMC/AFLCMC
• Strong understanding of AFLCMC organizational structure and acquisition processes and roles
• Demonstrated experience managing high-visibility products, briefing packages, and senior-leader correspondence
• Exceptional organization and project management skills; ability to maintain many concurrent efforts with competing deadlines
• Executive-level communication and strong briefing capability
• High attention to detail with strong editing, formatting, and coordination discipline
• Stakeholder management and ability to work effectively with senior leaders, program offices, functionals, and external partners
• Highly analytical; ability to use critical thinking to synthesize complex information and identify risks and opportunities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project, and Planner
• AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
Qualifications Desired:
• Experience working in or supporting Director's Action Group, front office group (FOG), or senior-leader staff is highly desirable
• Familiarity with propulsion enterprise technology and processes (roadmaps, technology transition pathways, enterprise integration mechanisms, etc.)
• Experience developing and maintaining governance structures, organization-level battle rhythms, and/or enterprise strategic frameworks
• Ability to independently manage special studies, special initiative teams, or working groups
• Previous experience as an executive officer to an Air Force senior leader
• Proactive, anticipatory, and comfortable operating with ambiguity
• Calm and composed under tight timelines, high-tempo decision cycles, and senior-leader pressure
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without direct authority
• Commitment to professionalism and discretion
• Top secret clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) desired
