We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support the implementation of ServiceNow's Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules. This position will drive requirements gathering, including drafting user stories, facilitating user story refinement sessions, and backlog grooming. In addition, this role will support testing, and Agile delivery for a federal client, while working closely with the Project Manager, Developers, and client stakeholders.

Location: Remote within United States

Duration: This position is expected to last through Sept 2026 with a strong likelihood of extension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct requirements gathering sessions- drafting and editing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process workflows, related to HAM/SAM.
  • Lead backlog grooming sessions, partnering with the Product Owner and technical team to maintain a prioritized, ready-for-development backlog.
  • Facilitate and support testing activities for HAM/SAM, working closely with internal teams and client stakeholders to draft test cases, coordinate test execution, validate results, and guide users through UAT.
  • Support UAT coordination and end-user documentation in coordination with QA/test team.
  • Own the HAM/SAM story backlog and ensure alignment with technical feasibility and platform best practices.
  • Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to refine and prioritize features.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and impacts related to user stories, workflows, processes, and system changes.
  • Ensure all user stories meet Definition of Ready (DoR) and completed work meet Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Serve as a key communication link between developers and business/technical stakeholders.
  • Effectively lead and operationalize meetings to deliver a consensus on the desired outcomes. Drive consistency and quality across deliverables by applying Agile best practices and continuous improvement principles.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to effectively communicate with all audiences.


Requirements

  • Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business management, information systems, engineering or related field (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education).
  • 8+ Years of experience as a Business Analyst with ServiceNow.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow HAM and/or SAM modules.
  • Familiarity with asset lifecycle processes, license models, and IT asset governance.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and hybrid frameworks as well as backlog management tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow Agile). Proficiency in user story writing, backlog management, and UAT processes.
  • Excellent facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience working in supporting a federal agency via government contract.


Clearance requirement:
  • US Citizen or Green card holder
  • Willing and able to get a Public Trust Suitability clearance
    • Must meet updated ID requirements: Bring required documents | GSA
    • If you do not currently meet the ID requirements outlined, you must be willing and able to update your current forms of ID in a timely manner to complete the suitability process successfully.


Nice to Have:
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or equivalent Agile certification.
  • ServiceNow BA or HAM/SAM certifications.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow Test Management and Automated Test Framework (ATF) for building, maintaining, and executing automated regression tests
  • Experience working with ServiceNow Discovery, Flexera, or related asset/license tools.
  • Experience creating process maps and functional documentation using tools like Lucidchart, Miro, or Visio.
