Markon is seeking an experienced IT Enterprise Architect or Systems Engineer to support a client in the Bethesda, Maryland area. This role focuses on documenting and evolving the client's IT enterprise architecture to enable interoperability across organizations, providing stakeholders with visibility into enterprise capabilities, dependencies, risks, and mission impacts while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Markon is seeking an experienced IT Enterprise Architect or Systems Engineer to support a client in the Bethesda, Maryland area. This role focuses on documenting and evolving the client's IT enterprise architecture to enable interoperability across organizations, providing stakeholders with visibility into enterprise capabilities, dependencies, risks, and mission impacts while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Enterprise Architecture Baseline, discovering and documenting the current ("as-is") state of the client's IT enterprise across multiple organizations.
- Define the Enterprise Architecture Future State, aligning architectural artifacts with the client's strategic vision and interoperability objectives.
- Create the Enterprise Architecture Transition Plan, including guidance and artifacts to incrementally evolve the enterprise from the current state to the future state.
- Analyze enterprise-level capabilities, dependencies, risks, and mission impacts to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including content providers, content consumers, developers, engineers, and business analysts.
- Ensure architectural alignment across systems, platforms, and organizational boundaries.
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree with 12-15 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience; Doctorate in a technical domain may be considered.
- Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, Systems Engineer, or in a closely related role.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as UAF, TOGAF, Zachman, and/or DoDAF.
- Familiarity with SysML or UML and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience working within or supporting the Intelligence Community (IC).
- Hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as MagicDraw, Rational Rhapsody, Cameo, Genesys, or similar platforms.
