Duties

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Title 32), GS-0346-7/9, you will be the point of contact for the Logistics Readiness Squadron deployment and training activities. Manages customer training and provides the Logistics Readiness Squadron forces with training and resources for deployed operations.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
  • Review and evaluate operations, deployment, contingency, and exercise plans to verify mission readiness and identify required actions.
  • Analyze exercise and contingency plans to determine necessary equipment, manning, and training requirements for deployment taskings.
  • Compile and update personnel, training, equipment, and supply status to ensure accuracy in readiness reporting.
  • Assign proper security classification and storage requirements for classified documents and deployability records.
  • Inspect training areas and review training records to ensure compliance with established directives and regulations.
  • Manage development of contingency, deployment, expeditionary support, sustainment, and redeployment plans for the Logistics Readiness Squadron.
  • Prepare, update, and coordinate deployment and support plans and annexes with squadron managers and external base organizations.
  • Identify program deficiencies, analyze training or readiness shortfalls, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Determine training requirements by reviewing documentation and balancing training needs against available resources.
  • Develop procedures for deployment and redeployment of personnel and equipment to meet mission readiness needs.
  • Develop, manage, and control squadron training and career development programs, including automated systems and multimedia resources.
  • Provide training guidance to supervisors and conduct meetings with leadership to resolve training issues.
  • Develop and conduct classroom training, including readiness and deployment instruction for squadron personnel.
  • Plan and initiate cross-training and familiarization training to improve personnel utilization.
  • Coordinate and manage formal schools, supervisory courses, technical training, EST programs, and exportable course requirements.
  • Coordinate with base organizations, supervisors, commanders, and squadron managers to communicate plan changes, training needs, and readiness status.
  • Provide readiness briefings to Squadron and Wing commanders and explain key readiness indicators, limitations, and corrective actions.
  • Advise commanders and supervisors on training deficiencies, problem areas, and recommended solutions.
  • Deliver supply customer block training and explain procedural changes affecting operational effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance to EST trainers, task certifiers, and supervisory personnel to ensure understanding of program objectives and training standards.

  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Telework may be authorized.

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the lower grade level in order to be considered for this position.
  • Indefinite position/temporary promotion/may become permanent.
Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
  • The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
  • The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
  • The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
  • The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
  • The FIFTH area of consideration will be U.S. Citizens.
Military Grades: Enlisted Only - Minimum rank requirement of SSgt & May not exceed the rank of MSgt.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-09 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which involved detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities). Experience planning and organizing work assignments. GS-07 Level - MUST possess specialized experience which includes 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training involving knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support. Experience integrating actions of support activities to meet program goals. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks and comply with regulations, laws, or practices.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

If you are using Education to qualify for this position, successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or two full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited college or university, meets the GS-9 qualification requirements. An LL.B. or J.D. may also satisfy the GS-9 requirements if the coursework is directly related to the position. Successful completion of one full year of graduate-level education from an accredited college or university meets the GS-7 qualification requirements. A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) also meets the GS-7 qualification requirements.

You must provide OFFICIAL transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
