General Summary
Perform systems engineering to include expertise in systems design and integration; manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering; airworthiness; and configuration, and data management for the VC-25B. Apply OSS&E and airworthiness processes, as well as assist in providing risk assessments, safety analysis and recommendations, and addressing high priority safety issues. Have knowledge of systems engineering in support of system definition, development, integration, verification methods, sustainment, risk modeling/simulation, testing and evaluation, human system integration (HSI), crew stations engineering, OSS&E efforts, interoperability requirements, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems, including ground-based systems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining processes to assure weapon systems are fully integrated, manufactured, sustained, configuration managed and operationally safe, suitable and effective throughout their life cycle
- Understand and execute AFPD 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes, and issuance of flight authorizations
- Assist in reviewing, developing, and updating applicable program documentation for systems engineering relevant requirements/issues
- Participate in and assist in the planning of systems engineering risk assessments by establishing a risk management review, coordinating action item status, and updating risk management metrics
- Assist the program office Airworthiness Certification Working Group (ACWG) by assisting in the support, development, and maintenance of a comprehensive Modification Airworthiness Criteria Certification (MACC) compliance package and assist in conducting an airworthiness risk assessment
- Produce draft documentation as requested or necessitated by programmatic limits based on cost, schedule, and performance to support the airworthiness process
- Review and assist in performing assessments on program specific databases, analyzing BIT failure reports, and comparing failure reports against the BIT interpreter analyzer for accuracy of BIT indications
- Provide system integration guidance to aircraft program offices for the program system installation and system maintenance
- Review and analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system capability
- Assist in conducting performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies; and conducting systems analyses to including but not limited to system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments
- Provide system integration guidance to the Government for the program system installation and system maintenance
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing OEM technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system capability
- Assist in performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life- cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies
- Assist in systems analyses to including but not limited to system design/design feasibility and state-of-threat assessments
- Provide technical expertise and proper application of systems engineering processes to support technology and systems development
- Assist in defining the maturation of technology development and technical risk reduction efforts; and evaluating and managing requirements, functional and physical architectures, and interfaces
- Assist in managing the technical issues that arise as a result of the integration processes using a systems approach
- Assist in developing a SEP to address the technical strategy of the development efforts
- Employ procedures, methods, and tools for measuring technical progress and assist in assessing the effectiveness of plans and solutions
- Assist in the development and review of the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements)
- Assist in developmental planning support in evaluation of the military mission to be accomplished and any related requirements documentation
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing proposals, including regulatory and other policy driver changes or proposed modifications, for design feasibility and system compatibility
- Assist with the core engineering tasks as they relate to system design engineering

Required Experience
One of the following combinations of education/experience:

- Bachelor's degree in an ABET accredited engineering discipline, plus a Master's degree in engineering (Masters degree does not need to be ABET accredited) and at least twelve (12) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD -OR-
- Bachelor's degree from ABET accredited engineering discipline, and fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD
- U.S. Citizenship required; Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
