Description

SAIC has an opening for a Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Technician in support of the USSOCOM SITEC 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) contract. The USSOCOM mission is to provide fully capable Special Operations Forces (SOF) to defend the United States and its interests and synchronize planning for global operations against terrorist networks. You will support and partner with SOF military and civilian members to provide world-class IT services and support that connects over 60,000 global users in the areas of software maintenance, network services, security, end-user computing, and test and evaluation. This position is based on-site at MacDill AFB, FL.

VTC Technicians require excellent problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as thorough knowledge of VTC hardware, software, and network connections. VTC Technicians must have expertise in scheduling VTC sessions in VTC bridges, hands on experience with debugging the interoperation of VTC bridges and end points, as well as experience setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment (displays, microphones, sound boards etc.) The position will also support other associated activities, tasks, and projects in a very diverse and fast-paced test, operations-focused environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Installs, configures, manages, maintains, operates, and defends common area VTC equipment, including day-to-day setup, scheduling, and monitoring.

• Schedules, coordinates, and administers multiple simultaneous VTC sessions.

• Provides dedicated support to VTCs attended by VIPs.

• Recommends VTC systems upgrades.

• Provides version control and provisioning via a Telepresence Management Suite (TMS) for VTC CODECs.

• Installs flat panel displays, room based VTC endpoints, projectors, and A/V equipment.

• Resolves issues down to the equipment level (black box).

• Manages, maintains, and posts a daily MSL and shift change procedures.

• Schedules, configures, and connects users to DISA GVS and DVS conferences.

• Trains designated personnel on the operation of VTC equipment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree & 5+ years of experience OR 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Must currently hold an active Top Secret Clearance with Top Secret/SCI Clearance eligibility
  • Current CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Thorough knowledge of VTC hardware, software and network connections
  • Expertise in scheduling VTC sessions in VTC bridges
  • Hands-on experience with debugging the interoperation of VTC bridges and end points

    Skills desired:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be self- motivated, creative, willing to work as a member of a team, organized and able to manage individual schedules
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in a rapidly changing environment
