SPA's Enterprise Data Management and Analytics team is focused on enhancing SPA's management of and insights into it's data to deliver operational impact at all levels of the organization.

SPA has an immediate need for a Data Scientist.

Responsibilities

The Data Scientist will be responsible for:
  • Connecting Power BI to various data sources such as SQL databases, Excel spreadsheets, and cloud platforms to create efficient data models that include relationships, hierarchies, and calculated metrics.
  • Manipulating data with Power Query to prepare high-quality datasets and manage all aspects of data integration and transformation.
  • Leveraging DAX to uncover trends and patterns to delivering actionable insights while presenting findings in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure Power BI solutions address key objectives.
  • Managing user access to dashboards and data with the Power BI ecosystem.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with business intelligence tools, with a strong emphasis on Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of database query languages (e.g., SQL) for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for data preparation, transformation, and advanced calculations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all mediums (verbal, visual and in writing).


Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge of SPA's organization and data needs.
  • Power BI related certifications (e.g., Power BI Data Analyst Associate).
