Duties
Help
  • You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) located in the Military Sealift Command (MSC), Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Systems Department (N046) (C4S) (N6), Cybersecurity Division (N62), Cybersecurity Operations Branch (N621).
  • You will implement cybersecurity practices in accordance with DoD, DON, and MSC policy and guidance.
  • You will distribute and maintain plans, instructions, guidance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for MSC Information Security Systems.
  • You will serve as the functional expert on Cyber Security practices, supporting the application of knowledge management principles and practices in the development and sustainment of efforts in these areas.
  • You will conduct reviews to include wireless, annual scans in support accreditation and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs) on MSC standalone or connected assets.
  • You will perform technical and non-technical risk and vulnerability assessments of relevant technology focus areas.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (722), proficiency level (INTERMEDIATE) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Providing program management of the Cybersecurity program to ensure enterprise-wide compliance and implementation of cybersecurity requirements.
  • Implementing cybersecurity policy
  • Determining appropriate measures for risk management.
  • Providing direct support to Program management, Service Execution and Mission Support highlighting how decisions may impact the security posture of cyber and communication infrastructure.
  • Developing and drafting cyber policy, standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes which include tracking, monitoring, reviewing, data gathering, collecting and analyzing.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
