For this position, phia is hiring a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Tealeaf – Acoustic Experience Analytics SME) to support cyber defense engineering and operations at a large independent government agency (similar mission, size and scope to Fortune 100 or Global 100 companies). This role focuses on providing technical expertise for Tealeaf across on-premise and cloud environments, supporting infrastructure teams, and assisting with fraud detection and user behavior analysis in large scale e-commerce environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Tealeaf configuration, analytics, and troubleshooting.
This position offers REMOTE work flexibility, while primary customer locations include the Fairfax, VA and Raleigh, NC areas. Qualified candidates will be U.S. Citizens and located in the United States, able to achieve Public Trust security vetting approval.
What You’ll Do:
Provide expert guidance on Tealeaf infrastructure for on-prem and cloud environments.
Support teams with Linux administration for Passive Capture Appliance (PCA).
Assist with implementation, administration, configuration of PCA, Canisters, Portal, Replay server
Advise on software upgrades, patching, and monitoring for on-prem deployments.
Contribute to Cloud / SDK & UI initiatives to extend Tealeaf into cloud-based applications.
Offer expertise in Tealeaf data processing pipeline configuration.
Configure and optimize Tealeaf analytics & replay (events, dimensions, privacy rules, replay rules).
Perform complex Tealeaf searches to help identify fraud and abuse in ecommerce contexts.
Collaborate with development teams on Tealeaf-compatible pages and APIs.
Recommend approaches for leveraging AI/LLM to automate Tealeaf activities and notifications.
Communicate findings and insights clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Provide on-call availability for cybersecurity-related incidents.
Who You Are:
Have significant hands-on Acoustic Tealeaf experience, including:
Installation, upgrades, and patching
Implementation, administration, and configuration (PCA, Canisters, Portal, Replay Server)
Analytics & replay configuration (events, dimensions, privacy rules, replay rules)
Strong web application security knowledge and skills.
Have a solid understanding of website/web server architecture and cloud computing.
Familiar with Web 2.0 technologies (JSON, JavaScript).
Knowledgeable in AI and LLM concepts for automation opportunities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Able to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Preferred Skills:
3 - 5+ years performing deep-dive Tealeaf data analysis and delivering actionable insights.
Expertise in troubleshooting replay fidelity issues and recommending optimizations.
Experience collaborating with developers to ensure Tealeaf compatibility.
Familiarity with cloud Tealeaf implementations.
Experience with Splunk for data analysis.
Experience with Akamai, F5 (LTM/ASM/NGINX), and Splunk in security or performance contexts.
Required Education + Experience:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree preferred, but can be substituted with significant experience
5+ years of relevant experience (cybersecurity, ideally focused around Tealeaf and related technologies)
Certifications (desired):
Baseline cybersecurity certifications (e.g. CISSP, Security+, GSEC)
Cyber monitoring/analysis/investigation certifications (e.g. GCIA, GCIH, etc.)
Cloud infrastructure certifications (e.g. AWS, Azure)
