This role leads corrective action activities, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures product and process conformity throughout the production lifecycle. The Quality Assurance Engineer partners closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to analyze defects, prevent recurrence, and elevate overall quality performance.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Engineer partners closely with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to analyze defects, prevent recurrence, and elevate overall quality performance.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support corrective action investigations, including problem identification, data collection, root-cause analysis, and development of robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Oversee the collection, review, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to identify trends, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving teams and drive investigations to closure with documented effectiveness checks.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality standards, procedures, and inspection processes throughout the production environment.
- Partner with Production and Engineering to monitor process controls, nonconformance trends, and product performance.
- Participate in internal audits, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement activities (e.g., 5 why, Fishbone, DMAIC).
- Support configuration control, documentation accuracy, and adherence to customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Assist with training production personnel on quality processes, workmanship standards, and corrective action implementation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in quality engineering, Quality Assurance, or related other technical field, and 2-3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Demonstrated experience conducting root-cause analysis and leading corrective action activities in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to product integrity and safety.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively across departments and drive accountability for quality expectations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience leading quality investigations within aerospace, defense, UAV manufacturing, or highly regulated industries.
- Experience working in an ISO-9001 or AS9100 quality management system.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk in warehouse environments as needed.
