The MITRE Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Program Division is seeking an individual experienced strategic assessment subject matter expert to support wargaming, modeling and simulation exercises in support of a broad set of existing sponsors in the USW (A&S), OSW Policy, and Services. This individual will be a direct support vector to the OSD Division and its critical sponsor base to be a driving force behind the DoW by helping them reach their necessary impact and achieve the acquisition transformation goals rapidly being set forth. The Secretary of War directed the realignment of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) and the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA) from the Under Secretary of War for Policy USW(P) to the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment USW(A&S). Under USW(A&S), arms transfer execution (FMS/DCS) will be integrated with the Warfighting Acquisition System, industrial base, sustainment, and technology security activities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The prospective candidate will be expected to work and lead technical efforts aligned to the acquisition transformation strategy. The candidate will interact with MITRE staff to increase our capabilities via sponsor work and internal research and development. This role involves analysis of national defense strategies, supporting programs with allies and partners, and leading teams to successful outcomes. A successful candidate will be able to understand strategic opportunities and bridge the gap between MITRE's technical depth and the Department of Defense operational and tactical imperatives.

Responsibilities may also include:
- Working with the Project Leads, MITRE OSD Program Leadership, OUSW (A&S) and OSW Policy government leadership to shape the MITRE work program and customer strategy.
- Experience with National Defense Strategy implementation, including military, economic and political understanding to inform investments, priorities and decisions.
- Experience producing data-driven assessments of national defense strategies and supporting programs with allies and partners.
- Experience planning and executing security cooperation programs and managing associated resources.
- Leveraging relationships across various organizations, Innovation Centers, and Program Divisions across the DoW and MITRE to bring forward innovative solutions.
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers and key stakeholders across the Army, OSW, Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, and allied/partner organizations.
- Support critical sponsor goals and outcomes by on-time delivery of high-quality data-driven technical products.
- Work in partnership with the individual task leads to Identify and improve the quality data-driven technical products.
Basic Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Indo-Pacific security affairs, especially the U.S - PRC military balance
- 10+ years of experience working with Indo-Pacific countries on defense matters, including security cooperation (preference for proficiency in one or more Indo-Pacific languages), and J2/intelligence collaboration.
- Possess a broad network of U.S., allied, and partner security (uniformed and civilian) officials
- Able to articulate historical and likely future U.S. regional interests and to knowledgeably speculate on allied/partner interests
- Familiarity with systems engineering and with AI adoption in workflow / research
- Experience leading projects and multi-disciplinary teams
- Must have a TS clearance to be considered
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers and key stakeholders
- Experience working with high-level DoD officials
- Current TS//SCI
