Boeing's Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) Engineering organization is actively seeking a Facilities Structural Engineer, at either Experienced or Senior Level, to join our Engineering and PACE team in El Segundo, CA. This role will support five sites across the Southwest Region.
We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team, focusing on structural design and conducting comprehensive structural and seismic analysis for building systems and equipment support. This role will involve applying advanced engineering principles to ensure the integrity and safety of our structures, while also addressing the unique challenges posed by seismic activity.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team, focusing on structural design and conducting comprehensive structural and seismic analysis for building systems and equipment support. This role will involve applying advanced engineering principles to ensure the integrity and safety of our structures, while also addressing the unique challenges posed by seismic activity.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop moderately complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provide maintenance support for the structural phases of buildings, equipment installations, utility systems and grounds including advanced seismic designs
- Review structural/seismic designs to assess compliance with customer requirements, building codes and applicable regulations by applying knowledge of construction principles, practices and materials
- Ensure accuracy of drawing archives/libraries by reviewing contractor redlines
- Identify errors and document construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards and record retention requirements
- Review detailed design documents
- Use appropriate resources to produce project drawings, specifications and permit application packages in accordance with project parameters
- Review and approve documents
- Translate customer requirements into design options with documents and estimates
- Provide input to strategic, short-term and long-term infrastructure planning; complete studies; analyze current conditions and future requirements; recommend capital improvements, gather and analyze data and work with both internal and external customers to identify and assess alternatives and impacts
- Lead in interpretation and analysis of applicable regulations, standards, codes and ordinances with respect to project requirements
- Offer project alternatives to ensure compliance
- Provide support, as required, to secure permits
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree or greater in structural engineering
- 3+ years of experience in Structural Engineering
- 3+ years of experience using AutoCAD or a similar software
- 3+ years of experience reading & understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in construction projects
- 5+ years of experience with building and safety codes
- 5+ years of experience leading cross functional engineering teams
- Experience in design, analysis and evaluation of building structures, including foundations, roofing, framing, floors, equipment supports, seismic bracing, etc.
- Experience working in a production environment
